7 Ways to Make Your Wedding Special

7 Ways to Make Your Wedding Special

Whether you’re planning to have your nuptials on a budget, or go all out with no expense spared, there are some pretty simple things you can do to make your wedding day extra special. Here are six of our favourite ideas:

  1. Incorporate a Theme

When people think of themed weddings, they usually think that it can be over-the-top, and just a bit too much. If you or your partner have a hobby or interest that you are passionate about, such as literature, music, cars, comics, movies and TV Shows, or sport, there are ways you can give a subtle nod to them at your wedding, which is the perfect way to make your special day that little bit more personal.

  1. Include Family & Friends

Do you have a family member who is a wizard at hair and makeup? A relative who has amazing flower arranging skills? Or a friend whose baking ability rivals some of the best on the Great British Bake Off?

Ask if they would like to be a part of your wedding day by using their skills to help you celebrate in style. Fair is fair, so it’s only right that they are paid for their time and contribution, and of course they should have the option to say “no thanks”, after all they might just want to enjoy the day with you, instead of being stressed out about it.

  1. Have Quirky Favours

Instead of the traditional sugared almonds or mini eggs, why not be a little more creative with the wedding favours for your guests? Some of our favourite ideas include a mix tape, scented candles, and Lucky Dip lottery tickets.

  1. Arrange a “First Look”

We’ve all seen those amazing pictures online that are taken by the wedding photographer right when the Groom sees the Bride for the first time. Arrange for a surprise “first look” photo with your photographer by making sure the Bride arrives at least 15 minutes early for the ceremony.

  1. Have a Photo Booth

Not only is this a great way to keep the guests entertained, but it will also provide hours of entertainment after the big day too. Guests can get dressed up with silly props and take some candid pictures that will make for great mementos of your wedding day.

  1. Get Acoustic

After the wedding ceremony, when you and your Wedding Party are off getting photos taken, the rest of your guests are usually left to their own devices, and it can be a long time with nothing to do. While many will head to the bar to grab a seat, have a drink, and mingle, it would be a great time to have a singer with an acoustic guitar to play some great music and keep your guests entertained until you return.

  1. Something for the kids

Children, especially young ones, can find the whole reception quite boring. If you plan to have children at your wedding, why not look at a bouncy castle, face painter or even some lawn games if your venue allows, will keep the kids entertained so you can make sure that mums and dads have a great night and take part in all the adult fun you have planned.
